The Facade Inspection Safety Program requires a qualified inspector to examine the exterior walls and file a report with the Department of Buildings on a recurring cycle, and most Manhattan residential and commercial buildings are above that threshold. Buildings of six stories or fewer fall outside FISP, though parapet requirements under Local Law 126 of 2021 can still apply.
